STROLL HEALTH

PROVIDER'S SEARCH PAGE

TLDR;

Stroll health Is a medical search portal. It helps providers and patients find and book affordable and in network healthcare. My team task was to restructure the search page to find and book medical appointments for patients.

Challenge:

Re-design search page to provide a more efficient search results for users.

Goals:

  • Improve the visual language

  • Re-design content and restructure the Information Architecture

  • Improve search listing and designing better filters and sorting options

  • Re-design the Map interactions and interface

  • Designing with tablet screens in mind

My role

I participated in all phases of the project with special emphasis on:

  • Hi-Fi Map Interface and designing interactions for all map use cases

  • Lo-fi designing, production and presentation for page content and filters

  • Designing day and time searching filters.

  • Creating prototypes and conducting user testing.

Timeline

14 weeks to deliver a Hi-Fidelity clickable prototype that is tested and validated with users.

PROCESS

PROBLEM DEFINITION

Pain point 3: Confusing search map interactions

Users were confused by the map responses to clicking on search results and were frustrated by not being able to search through the map.

Pain Point 1: Cluttered Content and unreadable listings

Search results listing were cluttered and users indicated that a facility image is not helpful and unnecessary.

Pain point 2: Lack of Filters and sorting options

Users found difficulty in booking appointments more than a week in the future, in addition, the way the appointments times are laid out.

DESIGN SOLUTIONS

LO-FI IDEATION

JTBD

I started by applying the jobs to be done frame work focusing on the activity since we had many use cases to design for. JTBD helped in prioritizing the information shown on the page and how to tailor the IA to make searching easy.

DESIGN STUDIO

During Design studio, we brainstormed and voted for page initial structure and where each of the main elements would be  filters, map and search listings

SIDE FILTERS

MORE FILTERS

Feed back and iterations

We had a meeting with the PM and Engineer working on this page to get feedback and iterate accordingly, some of the feedback we got was:

  • Radius Bar engineering limitations

  • More inclined into a hidden advanced filters menu

  • Days of scheduling must be displayed

FEEDBACK

  • Side scrolling was confusing.

  • Filtering options were more efficient in scheduling future appointments.

VALIDATION

in the validation, we were optimizing for efficiency in scheduling, our goals were:

Test the understanding of the information on the page

The ease in which users will schedule appointments for different use cases

TOOLS:

We used time testing

We tested and timed the amount of time taken by users to perform each task for the existing design versus the design we proposed.

HI-FI DESIGN SOLUTION

Re-design content and search listing structure

Re-design date and time scheduling

Date and time selection

Creating more filters and sorting options

Design a searchable map

Clicking on the map bubble will highlight this listing in blue

Information pop-up was redesigned to include, reviews and price information

Map Pin is highlighted in orange when clicked.

Map Interactions

LESSONS LEARNED

What was challenging about StrollHealth is designing for multiple use cases along with dealing with complex information architecture, so it was up to the design to convey simplicity and ease of searching experience through intuitive interactions, clear visual language, and Concise information Architecture.
